“A Spring Rain Always Brings a Rainbow–A Modern, Romantic, Garden Spring Wedding”

Jenny + Ian are such a sweet couple. We worked together to plan a modern, romantic Park Winters Wedding. As the spring weather started to arrive and temperatures started warming up we were getting so excited for their big day!!  It wasn’t until about a week before when a random rain storm was forecasted for their wedding day. The weather forecast was erratic and changing every 12 hours. It seemed impossible to figure out what to prepare for. Jenny + Ian kept saying how thankful they were to have a wedding planner in their corner to support and manage this crazy weather forecast. Regardless of what the weather was going to do, we knew it would be a magical wedding day.

Fast forward to the big day,  the morning started with heavy showers. The rain was puddling and we had to shift to our contingency plan. We had a plan A, B, C, D, E ready to go depending on what Mother Nature gave us. Despite the crazy weather and ever changing plans, the one thing that was steady was that Jenny + Ian hired a strong vendor team and they trusted each and every vendor. Everyone was prepared to shift and adapt depending on what was needed and to give our bride and groom the best day possible After the heavy rain showers there was a break in the rain and  we wiped down the ceremony chairs so guest could take a seat and Jenny + Ian were married outside as a full rainbow appeared in the distance.

The rest of the wedding was PERFECT. We had an amazing sunset and Mother Nature showed off for those golden hour photos, Function 45 surprised our couple with Cold Sparklers on the dance floor, the toasts made everyone cry and everyone danced the night away! The rain was the last thing on their mind.  If you are a new bride and see rain on your wedding day, let this be your reminder that while rain wasn’t what you wanted or planned for, so long as you get married and get to celebrate with your friends and family it will be a magical day. Lean in to your wedding planner, trust your vendor team, and wait for your wedding day rainbow!

Favorite Things:

  1. Vendor Team-this wedding became extremely logistically challenging with very erratic Spring weather. Hiring a vendor team that your wedding planner knows and  trusts CHANGES everything.
  2. Design-Jenny + Ian wanted to find a wedding design that married both of their unique style preferences. Jenny is soft and loved romantic vibes, while Ian wanted to bring in some masculine, modern textiles. It was SO fun getting to know them and design their wedding.
  3. Food!! Both Ian and Jenny deem themselves foodies–they had an amazing farm to fork dinner, his and her snacks at the bar, an incredible dessert spread from Palette Cakes, an ice cream cart AND hot ramen bar!!
