Awards season is a time when designers debut their creations on Hollywood royalty. This year’s red carpet was the backdrop for many beautiful gowns. Who knew it would also be the perfect place to get wedding inspiration for your own dress! White was a huge trend this year at the 2015 Oscars, and there were a few leading ladies in particular that nailed it in this bridal-hue.
The delicately designed details of each dress brought together whimsical romance and high fashion couture. It was evident that crisp white gowns with clean lines and dresses that sparkled with embellishment were trending this year.
As you begin to plan for your biggest red carpet moment (your wedding day) one of the biggest decisions is what to wear! So why not look to the work of the expert stylists who dress these leading ladies.
Jennifer Aniston. Need I say more? This beauty always gets it right on the red carpet. She makes it look easy! The delicate beading on her vintage Versace gown was just the right amount. The classy-but-sexy slit on a blush-tone dress was simplistically chic. She may not have had an Oscar nom, but from her simple hair & makeup, to her rose-gold heels, she proved she was a winner.
Reese Witherspoon. The Wild star and best actress nominee had yet another timeless red carpet moment when she arrived in a black and white Tom Ford creation. One word can describe this look perfectly. Classic. The off-the-shoulder sleeves paired with simple, yet stunning, diamond earrings was effortless and on point. This would be a great inspiration look for any bride to be. Lupita Nyong’O Did not disappoint when she showed up to the red carpet in this Calvin Klein masterpiece. And I dont say masterpiece lightly, this was a hand-sewn Francisco Costa design, using over 6,000 pearls. As last year’s best supporting actress, she must be accustomed to getting it just right, all the way down to her Nicholas Kirkwood heels with Swarovski pearls. We love seeing her red carpet moments! Beyonce was the essence of old Hollywood glamour in her sleek white Stella McCartney ensemble which was paired with a light-grey J. Mendel fur stole. This fur accessory was the perfect complement to the gown. I can see this look being used as inspiration for a bride tying the knot on a crisp winter day. Miranda Kerr was elegant and sexy in Emilio Pucci at the Vanity Fair after party. She was super-model meets greek goddess in a white sheath with a low plunging back and gold detailing. This look would be perfect for a warm, summer evening wedding. {Lauren, Sacramento Wedding Planner}
