As a planner when I first meet with a bride I like to give them a budget worksheet. This will help you stay on track throughout the planning process. Once the budget has been set allocate a set amount for each category of the wedding: venue, flowers, invites etc… As you go throughout your wedding process make sure you are referring to the worksheet and are staying within the budget. I know little things can pop up during the process so make sure you allocate a little bit of money for the extra little things that sometimes go unnoticed or are forgotten. TIP #1For my first blog tip I thought I would start with the first thing you need to lock down when you start planning and that is your Venue and the date of the wedding. You probably won’t be surprised when I say that Saturday is the most common day to get married. It’s convenient, it’s traditional, and it is what most people are used to. Since it is the most common day it is also the most expensive day to get married. Many venues offer significantly lower rates if you book your wedding on a Sunday or even a Friday.
