I’m throwing a FUNDRAISER!.. Now what?
Putting on fundraiser is a lot harder then it looks and there are many different types of fundraisers: schools, companies, non-profits, and foundations. Although planning an event or birthday party are unique and take time and effort, fundraisers take on a little bit different of a role. Fundraisers require many different steps and guidelines to get it done correctly so you can raise the most money possible. An important aspect that sometimes may get overlooked is having a theme. Whether it be The Great Gatsby or even a crab feed the theme is key to how the event will go off. Look at the type of crowd you will be inviting and pick a theme that you think would peak their interest. You need to create an environment that people will feel comfortable as well as exciting. Excitement creates a memorable experience, as well as gets the crowd involved with event (i.e. donate more money). And let’s face it, who doesn’t like to dress up and pretend to be someone else for the night?! So remember, don’t let the theme be too crazy, but make it crazy enough for the guests to remember and have a care free time!
