A Dream Romantic Micro-Wedding in the Napa Valley Vineyards

When Erin and Drew reached out about planning a micro-wedding during their annual family vacation, I knew this was going to be something special. As a Sonoma wedding planner, I’ve had the honor of designing so many heartfelt events, but this one will forever stay with me.

Each year, Erin’s family takes a vacation together. Erin had always dreamed of visiting Napa Valley, so when it came time to plan her wedding, she thought, Why not combine the two?

We found the perfect private estate nestled among vineyard views and blooming rose gardens. The setting felt like something out of a movie. With just 25 guests, Erin and Drew were able to create a meaningful, intimate experience surrounded by those they love most.

Romantic Al Fresco Design with a View

The design inspiration was rooted in classic al fresco style. We leaned into warm neutrals and soft textures. Greenery and white roses brought a fresh, timeless feel, and touches of gold added a refined accent. As the sun dipped behind the vineyards, candlelight took over and transformed the evening into something truly magical.

Dinner was served by a private chef, creating a farm-to-fork culinary experience that everyone raved about. After dinner, emotional toasts filled the air with laughter and tears. One of the most moving moments came from the Father of the Bride, who said, “You won’t remember the gifts that people gave you throughout life, but you’ll always remember the time you spent with them.” That quote beautifully captured what made this micro-wedding so special. Time is the most precious gift of all, and Erin and Drew’s decision to spend it intentionally with their closest family made the day unforgettable.

Another thing this wedding reminded us is that micro-weddings are anything but small in meaning or impact. With fewer guests, we had more space to focus on thoughtful details, deeper connections, and creating lasting memories. The celebration was just as joyful and stunning as any large event if not more.

Although the guest list was smaller, the planning was no less complex. Our team stepped into many roles from venue coordination to floral design and it reinforced how vital it is to have a planner by your side. A micro-wedding doesn’t come with a micro to-do list, and having an experienced Sonoma wedding planner made all the difference for Erin and Drew.
