The Alluring team thought it would be a fun idea for me to do a blog series about my personal wedding planning process. I recently got engaged and will be starting my wedding planning very soon. So, throughout my process I will be blogging about my experiences (the good, the bad, the frustrating, the exciting, and everything in between!). First, I will tell you how it all started…My fiancé’s name is Mark…he is a firefighter, a cowboy, a surfer, funny, silly, driven, and my best friend. We met about three years ago through, who else, Aubrey White (owner of Alluring Events & Design). We started off as friends, then began dating the summer of 2011 and began our whirlwind romance ;)The Engagement:Mark and I both have a passion for traveling and have wanted to travel somewhere tropical together for a while. In October we finally booked a 10 day trip to Costa Rica for early December. We were stoked. However, our plans eventually had to be cancelled due to a crazy fire season and Mark not being able to get off work. Needless to say I was a little sad. The week we were suppose to be in Costa Rica Mark asked if I wanted to go to Apple Hill and get our first Christmas tree together and do some  wine tasting…uhh ya! So, we drove to Apple Hill and got some apple doughnuts, cut down our first Christmas tree then did some wine tasting. We ended at our favorite winery, Lava Cap. It was a very cold day and the forecast said it might even snow. We were the only ones at the winery and got our favorite bottle and sat outside under the heater. Mark asked me if I wanted to take a walk through the vineyard. As we were walking we stopped to enjoy the view and chat. Mark then proceeded to give me a very sweet and touching speech, then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I burst into uncontrollable tears (not cute silent tears, full on ugly girl loud crying tears lol). Of course I said yes and jumped into his arms, still hadn’t even looked at the ring, and held him and cried for a while. Unbeknownst to me, he had hired the very talented Carmen Salazar to take pictures of the whole engagement. After I controlled my tears he was able to put the ring on my finger and told me to ‘smile because our picture is being taken’…and out pops Carmen! We took some more pictures then finished our wine and called our families…and just as we were about to leave it started to snow. I know, magical.Hands down, best day of my life. I still think part of me is in shock and the other part is over the moon excited. I cannot believe how unbelievably blessed I am to get to marry my best friend.

Stay tuned as the wedding planning will begin soon!
